My current sunscreen of choice - Shadow 30 Review & Photos

My momma hid me in a dresser for 8 months :(

I have never been a sunscreen wearer in life, even when I was living in scorching hot Chennai! Mainly because back then I was unaware of the ill-effects of the Sun and the importance of wearing sunscreen. I got to know about sunscreens mostly from beauty blogs and youtube videos (Sometimes it is a bit over-done too, I think everyone needs some sun-time, mainly to get natural Vit-D. They all slap sunscreen and then find out they are low on Vit-D and take 1000mg in supplements!) Ever since I moved to the UK though I have not found the need to wear it at all cause honestly the sun never rises here! *Complain alert* omg this place makes me crave the sun like no other. We had 2 weeks of summer this year, horrible!*Complaining over* Coming back to the subject in hand, I have had two sunscreen bottles hidden in the dresser for ages, they have never seen the sun themselves :P

Recently since I revamped my skincare completely (Read spent loads of money on sassy products),

My hunt for the perfect liquid foundation – Rant! (Clinique Superbalanced Review in disguise?)

Click here to know what my all-time fav foundation is!

I am not a big fan of liquid foundation. They really scare me cause I do not like a cakey face(Who does?!) and I associate  liquid foundation with cakey! But often times I see girls with flawless skin and they say MAC Stufio Fix fluid is their secret weapon, or Estee Lauder Double Wear and that intrigued me if maybe there is no direct relationship between liquid makeup and cakeyness. So I decided to step into the liquid makeup puddle albeit with caution. So instead of jumping right into the full-coverage foundation land, I treaded into the sheer coverage pool.

Real Techniques Blush Brush - Review & Photos

RT Blush Brush

I really did not need another blush brush. I absolutely love my mac blush brush(Written about here). But I got carried away by the spot light thrown at the RT brushes. I held myself back until now, but I eventually caved in!

I bought their expert face and blush brushes. My initial thoughts on using the blush brush was “omg this brush is so huge and fluffy, more like a powder brush for the entire face”!

Eysilix Eye Cream/Treatment - Review & Photos (Skincare Investments 2)

I am always wary of writing reviews on products that people might not have heard of since majority of readers here are from India. But we all have friends and family all over the world who are more than willing to haul some of the gems from across the pond! Keeping that in mind, today's product is an eye cream very widely available in the UK. It is from a company called Indeed labs who have some amazing products delivering good unadultered doses of some amazing ingredients, I  have reviewed one here containing loads of hyaluronic acid. Keeping in that trend, this eye cream Eysilix says it is loaded with active peptides that help combat every single eye issue out there, puffiness, fatigue, crow's feet and dark circles! I have used it enough to give my verdict. Read on to see how it fared in my opinion.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm - Review & Photos (Skincare Investments 1)

You can read about the story behind this skincare investments tag here.

For all those who keep updated with skincare/beauty blogs from the west, you would be well aware of the product I am reviewing today. For those of you who have never heard of this before, the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Lift & Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm (Yes it has got a long name!) is a multi-award winning balm facial cleanser. Balm cleansers are ones which have a solid consistency in the jar, but once you start massaging into the skin it turns into a silky oil and works to take off all traces of makeup whilst thoroughly cleaning skin. So it is more like a makeup remover (eye and face) and a cleanser mixed into one. There are quite a few balm cleansers out there of which the EH one has a cult status amongst beauty bloggers. Today I will be taking you through the benefits my skin has received since using this and whether or not this product is worth all its hype.

My new skincare routine, new skincare products and a new tag

I would like to start a new tag on my blog called “Skincare Investments” to write about the more higher end skincare items that I am currently using and how they have fared. Earlier I did the “My Holygrail” tag where I had written about skincare items that are HG for me that I have been using for years together, that I have gone back to time and time again.

So when I have HG items then why did I move on to more expensive stuff? While the HG items have helped my skin a ton in getting rid of issues, for example the HG face wash helped keep my oiliness down and the spot treatment helped treat spots without drying out skin, skin dullness was always an issue for me. The HG items tackled the specific issues very well but failed to improve the overall look and feel of my skin.

Daily Supplements - What I take?

Daily supplements are a great way of making sure the body gets all the essential nutrients on a daily basis. It is definitely best to get all of it naturally via food, but we all know that we don't eat balanced food on a daily basis and even if we do we can never be sure if the foods we are eating contain all those nutrients. I have become so pessimistic these days that I find myself questioning even the most organic of foods! Who know whether they are really organic, who know whether the eggs we eat are really from free-range hens. Ok I will stop spreading my pessimism and get on with the subject of the day - supplements.

MAC Cream Colour Base Hush - Review, Photos & Swatches

MAC Cream Colour Bases in general are multi-purpose products that can be used for a plethora of highlighting jobs. This shade Hush in particular is quite a popular cream highlighter and one that MAC SAs recommend for medium-to-dark skin tones. I use hush to highlight my cheek bone area. I have used it under my brows but that seemed to make my eyes appear dark and did not really brighten them up. As for the bridge-of-nose highlighting, I have an embarrassing story to tell which follows a little later!

Guess the MAC lipsticks!

Guess the two MAC lipsticks! One is a gorgeous gorgeous everyday pink and the other a no-fuss everyday neutral. The pink is a re-purchase, my second bullet of it and the neutral is my first but I am absolutely loving it. Both are from my favourite lustre finish of mac lipsticks.

Hydraluron - Miracle in a tube!!! Review

I wrote this post a week ago, I am now back in London and have started work too… It has become incredibly cold here and I am not particularly enjoying it L I am having serious post-vacation withdrawal!

The blog has taken a back seat past few days weeks as my vacation in India is due to end in a week and I am busy with crazy shopping not just for fun stuff like clothes but other boring things like Indian grocery aka cereals n pulses!

But all along I have been itching to write about something super exciting - I have spent at least 1/3rd of my vacation sans makeup (Not so exciting?!).  You might go "eh?so wat?"!! For me though this is quite a revelation because the norm in my case is to wear mac studio finish powder every single day. So why have I taken the makeup free route?

Clinique All About Eyes - Review & Photos

Clinique All About Eyes is my first high-end'ish eye cream if I may say so. All along I have tried crap creams from Health & Glow that cost Rs 99 and did nothing at all, yes you Biotique eye gel I am looking at you. There is a reason why they are so cheap! Right now I am in a phase where I want to invest in good skin care items (Guess this comes with growing old!). I now believe in creams that are backed by extensive research and because of that they normally cost a bit more. No matter how much you spend on colour cosmetics, if skin is crap you will never do justice to all those pretties sitting in your vanity. Before I go on n on I am going to jump right into the eye cream review.

Clinique Moisture Surge Vs Clinique DDMG

So I  got a deluxe sample of the Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief moisturiser as part of the Clinique bonus time, which I have written about here. It is a really good size for a sample, I have been using it everyday for 4 weeks now and I still have half of it left! I own the full size of the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel which I have extensively reviewed here. I really like the latter. This post looks at how the two compare.

MAC eyebrow pencil Stud & Essie NOTD - Review & photos

We all have our own insecurities and problem zones when it comes to our face and body. My problem area where face is concerned used to be acne, but now that I have found products that have helped bring that issue down by 99%, my problem area radar has moved to my eyes!  My dark circles and sparse eyebrows.  A post on dark circle products is soon due. This post looks at the latter.
