Me and My Pregnancy Weight - How I lost those kilos

This is a little journal for me for future pregnancies (cheeky :D) and for anyone out there looking for some weight-loss tips. I am a mum of a beautiful 11 month old baby girl. She is turning one in a week (yayy to planning an all pink birthday party :D) and I am at a point right now where I am really pleased with how I look and how much weight I have lost since I had her. It feels pretty awesome when people call me a "santoor mommy"!

Blush Love - The Body Shop Nature's minerals blush in Brown Topaz - Review, Swatches & Photos

I bought this blush on sale for £5. I love MAC Gingerly and this looked like a powder form of gingerly. So I bought it without even swatching since at £5 I had nothing to lose. I now think it was a total score since I absolutely enjoy the colour and it being 100% natural is always a bonus.
This is a loose powder blush that comes in a sturdy glass pot with a screw on lid. There are obvious glitter particles in there but they all fall off the minute the brush touches my skin. Under bathroom lights I can actually spot glitter flying around when I swipe the brush across my cheeks! The recommended method of application is to tip the pot upside down with the lid on(obviously!!!), then swirl your blush brush into whatever products is there in the lid and apply to your cheeks. I have seen that the less product you use the better the effect. Beware of muddy cheeks with too much product.

Loreal color riche nail lacquer review

The Loreal color riche nail varnishes have been on my wish list ever since MakeupByTiffanyD started raving about these. There is currently a Buy-one-get-one-half-price sale going on in Boots across a number of beauty products. I picked up this varnish in shade Mauve Rendez Vous and the Barry M gelly hi-shine varnish in Pomegranate.

After 4 days of wear
I knew I wanted something different from the usual pink or coral shades and Mauve

Boots Vs Elf eyelash curlers

Gone are the days when I used to think eyelash curling was a faff! I have made eye lash curling a part of my daily makeup routine. I cannot tell if they really make me look awake, but they sure make mascara application a lot easier and fool proof! My lashes after a night’s sleep are straight as sticks and I poke my eye with the mascara wand every time I apply mascara before curling my lashes. Post curling though I can coat my lashes from the roots and I think it really does make a difference.

ELF Lash Curler

Until now I have been using the ELF eyelash curler bought because I did not want to spend more than a £1 on something

My makeup journey: How I purchased my first MAC items!

Hiya! Welcome to my blog dedicated to my thoughts on all things beauty!!!

I have been fascinated by makeup ever since I was a little girl. Back then all I owned was a palette passed on to me by an aunt who was gifted the palette for her wedding. I still remember it contained a blue shadow, maroon lipstick and a fuchsia cream blusher. It even had a mascara tube in it which had gone completely dry and rancid. Back then though I did not know what the tube was for! Anyhoo the point is, that palette made me so happy I spent hours together just looking at it trying the products on while being careful not to dent the cream blusher! When I got a little bit older I started using products by an Indian brand Lakme, which had cult status back then! Looking back at the products I owned makes me want to cringe, lipsticks were always maroon/red, nail varnish was always maroon/red and blusher was considered a clown’s accessory by my mom, so was not allowed to buy any! But every time I got my hands on a lakme lipstick my heart genuinely skipped a beat!

Things changed when I moved to UK to pursue my higher education. I discovered the YouTube makeup community and was delighted to find this huge circle dedicated to beauty. Beauty videos gave me so much happiness. It was a hobby of mine while trying to pass lonely cold winter days in my dorm room. I got introduced to MAC and decided to treat myself to a few MAC products. I went to a MAC counter and told the SA I was a complete newbie. He was very sweet and gave me a full makeover. The colour matching process felt a bit like how Harry Potter would have felt wearing the sorting hat. I had a moment there getting branded an NC42! LOL. This is how I bought my first MAC blusher – Plum foolery, MAC lipstick – Midi mauve and MAC powder – MSF natural.

All these products with absolutely no tools to use them! MAC brushes are expensive and for a student on my budget they were practically unattainable. So I went on to buy some £1 ELF brushes. And since then I have used quite a few products mostly from MAC and the drugstore. This blog is dedicated to my thoughts on these products with some skin care and hair care thoughts sprinkled in as well. Hope you all like! :)
